Baby Bellies!!!!!!!!!

The Sunday School numbers are finally starting to dwendel away! That's right all the pregnant women are finally giving birth to their babies. Our church over the past few months has seen a huge increase in the number of pregnant mom's. I think at one time there were ten people pregnant in our church. In order it will most likely be Christina, Rachael, Heather, Anne and then last but not least Me! I pray that all of these women make it through the last couple of weeks comfortably and that they all have safe deliveries. Love you girls!

Bronchitis!

Well we bought Christian into the Doctor today and he has Bronchitis. They have put him on antibiotics and it will take a minimum of 5 days to be completely out of his little system. Thanks to Colin last night for being such a trooper and spending all night with Christian while I finally got a goods night sleep. I pray that Christian gets better soon!

Poor Guy!

So this past week while every little kid was outside playing with the fluffy, cold, wet, white stuff my little guy was stuck in side with a fever, cough and a really bad cold. I actually felt really bad for him because he would stare outside of the sliding glass door and say "Mommy it's a wonderland" & "Mommy I get my hat, gloves and coat and go play with daddy outside". It was heartbreaking to watch him WISH he could play in the snow. Oh well, maybe he will be able to enjoy his next snow day! However, he is still sick with runny nose and cough. It's always so hard to watch your kids when they are sick. I have also come to terms that God is preparing me for the late nights and continuous feedings of a new born. Christian since being sick has been waking up at least three times a night for either more medicine or more water. So I have to say I'm ready for the no sleeping crying baby! BRING IT ON!

Christian's transition!

On January 7, 2008 I decided that it was time for Christian to move into his big boy room. Actually he sort of decided for me. We had spent most of our time at Sandra's house that morning and the kids were totally wiped out by the time 2:00 rolled around. When we reached the front door of our house that day Christian asked me if he could sleep in his big boy room. He was almost begging lol. So as I stood there for a minute thinking if i should wait or not..WHY WOULD I? My two year old was asking to make a big change that I had been dreading for months. It was the easiest transition ever. I wanted to wait for Colin but if he was asking to sleep in his big boy room why wait and prolong the experience lol. I laid him down and he slept until 4:30 that day. When it was time to go to bed that night I knew that he was ready. So we put him in it again. He did such a wonderful job. He has been such a blessing and such an easy child. Ginger suggested this wonderful bed rail that we use and it makes me feel very comfortable that he still feels caged in like he's in his crib. lol I hope that his transition with his new baby sister will be as easy as it was getting into his BIG BOY BED!!

Cajun or Not?!?!?

Tings I learned while livin in dat LOUISIANA:
1. Possums sleep in the middle of the road with their feet in the air
2. There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 live in LOUISIANA .
3. There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 live in LOUISIANA plus a couple no
one 's seen before.
4. If it grows, it sticks; if it crawls, it bites.
5. Onced and twiced are words.
6. It is not a shopping cart; it is a buggy.
7. Fire ants consider your flesh as a picnic
8. People actually grow and eat okra.
9. Fix & into is one word: FIXINTO
10. There is no such thing as 'lunch'. There is only dinner and then there is supper.
11. Ice tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two. We do like a little tea with our sugar
12. Backwards and forwards means i know everything about you
13. Jeet? Is actually a phrase meaning 'Did you eat?'
14. You don't have to wear a watch because it doesn't matter what time it is. You work until you're done or it's too dark to see.
15. You don't PUSH buttons, you MASH them.

YOU KNOW YOUR FROM LOUISIANA IF:
1. You measure distance in minutes.
2. You've ever had to switch from 'heat' to 'A/C' in the same day.
3. You use 'fix' as a verb. Example: 'I'm fixing to go to the store
4. All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, insect or animal
5. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.
6. You know what a "DAWG" is.
7. You carry jumper cables in your car...for your OWN car.
8. You only own five spices: Tony's (Cachere?), salt, pepper, Tabasco and ketchup.
9. The local papers cover national and international news on one page but require 6 pages for local gossip and sports.
10. You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday.
11. You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit 'a little warm'.
12. You know all four seasons: Deer Season, Duck Season, Crawfish Season, Summer.
13. You know whether another LOUISIANIAN is from, north or south, as soon as they start talking (speaking).
14. Going to Wal-mart is a favorite past time known as goin wal-martin or off to wally world?
15. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good gumbo weather. YEP!
16. A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola or pop...it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor. Example: 'What kinda coke you want?'
17. Fried catfish is the other white meat.
18. We don't need no stinking driver's Ed ....if our mama says we can drive, we can drive.
19. You understand these jokes and forward them to your friends from LOUISIANA (and
those who just wish they were). Not EVERYONE can be a LOUISIANIAN, it's an art form and a gift from God

Colin and I hope that from reading this, you all get an understanding of where we are from and what it was like to live in Louisiana. We laughed at every single one these and then once we were done, we knew we had to blog about it. Hope you enjoy!

28 WEEKS! THIRD AND FINAL TRIMESTER!

WOWA! Are we really already twenty eight weeks??? The final stretch. I'm doing great besides the discomfort of round ligament pain. Today I got to take a really long nap which felt great. Christian has been wonderful and is adjusting to all of the things pink that are making their way into our household. He is also very excited about his big boy room. We had to cut and alter the box spring over the weekend to fit in his bed and finally it worked. Thanks to Ginger I am sure that we have chosen a great bed rail for Christian's bed. She always has the best advice to give!!! We will be putting Christian in his room this weekend. Here is an updated picture of the belly! I finally scheduled my photo shoot with Lisa and I am so excited about it. Now I am on the hunt for things to wear :-)))

Anxious!

I don't know what it is with this pregnancy but I am getting so anxious! I keep thinking that the house needs to be in order and things that I never would clean before like the baseboards need to be clean also. I wish that I could just sit down and relax for a minute but that has not been the case. I thought that preparing for the second baby would be easier than the first but who was I kidding. Christian needs to get in his big boy room in order to get the baby's room ready i need to install another car seat into the car, not yet but eventually. It just seems as thought there is alot more going on the second time around than the first. I also hate that I have no time to go to the gym. I miss being able to just get out and go for a walk. I mean I have time but I would rather spend those last precious hours with Christian and Colin. I know that once the baby gets here it will be a little chaotic. And speaking of making you feel horrible...we were at chick fa late the other day with Mariah Carter and her little one and this woman comes from out of no where telling me how frustrated I was with Christian because he would not come down the play area when I was ready to leave she also added that Christian would need 125 % of my time when the baby gets here ........ and it didn't end there. After she wouldn't stop talking I just completely ignored the rest of her so called advice. I mean are you kidding me???? Who wouldn't get frustrated at 27 weeks when you have asked your two year old to get down about 6 times. It was a wake up call but it also made me question if i lose patience with my two year old that often. And being pregnant I probually took what she said a little to heart because i'm emotional! lol Oh well live and learn I guess!!!

Missing my spouse!

Yes! I miss him ALOT! Colin went on a trip to Louisiana as his last little guys weekend before the baby comes! Can I just say how much I MISS MY HUSBAND. Even when he was here just working in the basement over the break it still made me feel at ease. These last two days have been extremely exhausting being that i'm 27 weeks pregnant and running around after a 2 and 1/2 year old. Did I mention that my two year old stayed in his room for an hour talking to himself and refusing to go to sleep. When I asked him why he wasn't sleeping he replied "i'm not tired". How could he not be tired he was running around at church for two hours!! Not only does it effect me it also effects Christian as well. I can manage while Colin is away but I just miss the love, comfort, and support from my best friend. I hope that he can make it in tonight as it would be a treat for him to be home for both Christian and I. The two weeks that Colin had off brought him and Christian together. We both cannot wait to see Daddy!!
